Empowering West View and the surrounding communities to grow a resilient, sustainable, and equitable future through connection to food, land, and each other.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The location of the West View Urban Farm is on the ancestral lands of the Iroquois, as well as the Shawnee and Lenape after being forcibly removed from their ancestral homes. We honor the ancestral stewards of this land as we farm and create community on this site.
ABOUT
Established in 2022, the West View Urban Farm is the first of its kind in the borough. A volunteer-led initiative, the farm is an opportunity to grow fresh, healthy food for those experiencing food insecurity, empower people to grow their own food, and build a stronger community.
We come together to enable our community to create a healthy environment through food and land stewardship, to ensure a healthy present and thriving future. We do so by growing and providing fresh, nutritious food for our neighbors and other communities. Through this process, we learn and grow together, share our knowledge with others, and create a future where people of all ages have a better understanding of the benefits of healthy food and connection to nature.
Mission
values
We strive for equitable access to healthy foods.
We work together as one community to amplify the voices of people combating climate change on our own little piece of earth.
We dedicate our work to our community, our environment, our land, our children, our neighbors, and our future on this earth.
